PLUMBERS' REGISTRATION BILL.

At the Builders' Association Conference Mr Clarke- (Auckland) moved consider what steps should ho taken to prevent the granting by Parliament to any branch or section of the building trade anyspecial privilege or protection which is not given in full measure of equality to members of the Federation." Ho pointed out that the Plumbers' Registration Bill, if carried in the present form, would make it a criminal offence for a master builder or anyone else to employ a registered and fully qualified journeyman plumber to do sanitary work. Mr Bennett, in supporting tho motion, said that the Association was threatened with unfair restrictions being olaced on their bureaux by subcontractors. The remit was adopted, and it was further resolved to telegraph to the Minister in charge of tho Bill as follows: "This annual Conference, representing approximately 800 master builders, desires to emphatically protest asrainst the Plumbers Registration Bill being passed by Parliament in its present form."
