Federal Master Bakers' Conference Mr Allen, of New Zealand, was present. Speaking of the proposed combined action to reduce bakers' expenses and thus sell bread cheaper in Sydney.a. representative declared that the greatest combine that over existed was the Trade Hall master bakers of Svdnev, and they had to take off their hats and say to the workman, "Would you mind coming to work to-morrow?"

An agreement has,been arrived at in tho engine-drivers' dispute. It provides for a forty-eight hours' week, with wages ranging from Is 3id per hour for drivers requiring first-class certificates to Is for firemen and greasers. • . ■
