AMUSEMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE. The Opera House has been associated with vaudeville for many years. It is, indeed, the Christ-church home of that popular form, of amusement. In its time, it has tseen many vaudeville successes, and another was placed to its credit last night, when one of Messrs Fuller's companies made its first appearance before a large attendance. All the members of the company made their first bow to the Christciiurch public last, night, and all evidently pleased their audience, as the encores and applause were frequent and loud. Wong Toy Sun is certainly the star of the company. "Whatever his nationality may be, he appears in the gorgeous setting of Eastern costume and drapings, and he performs in silence. His triclw are original, but are largely on the lines followed by modern conjurors. They consist mainly of changing handkerchiefs. displacing and replacing articles and so on. Most of them are clever, and all are interesting. The other items on the programme consist of melodies, dances, coon songs, impersonations and humorous songs and recitations. Til a company of fifteen performers, it seems to be somewhat invidious to .select a few for special mention, but it should bo stated that Miss Nellie Lovell, with her song, " If You Want a Hay of Sunshine," was very popular. Miss Winnie Bond danced daintily; Mr M. Ericksen sang his comic songs acceptably: Sir J. Hurley showed 1 hat he, is an exnert impersonator ; and Mr Eraser Shaw sang several humorous songs with a good voice and manner. The company will give the same programme this evening.
