HERNE HILL MIRACLE.

The London papers have been discussr ing what lias been called the Hern© Hill miracle. This is the apparently instantaneous recovery from mortal illness of a young woman named Dorothy Kerin, who lives at Milkwood Road, Heme Hill, in south-east London. Misa Kerin, though bedridden for five years, and latterly blind and deaf, has suddenly recovered, and is now apparently well, having regained both sight and hearing. Her medical attendant gavo up hope, and it was thought the girl would not live more than a day or two at the most.

Late one Sunday night, according to tho girl's story, whilo her friends were gathered round the bedside expecting every minute that death would tako place, she suddenly got up from the bed and walked. Ever sinco sho has been apparently well and lias taken food like an ordinary person. The girl says:— " There seemed to bo a great light and two hands came and took my hands, lifted them up to my eyes, and pulled me up from tho bed. I sat right up, and a voice said : " ' Dorothy, vour sufferings are ended. Get up ancl walk.' " I opened my eyes and saw everybody around me."

Those who were present regard the event as a miracle. Miss Kerin has suffered from consumption and hemorrhage. In all she has been attended by twenty-eight doctors. The doctor who has attended her during tho last two years, and who is a duly qualified F.R.C.H.. with twenty-five years' practice, said in an interview that he had all along hoped that tho girl might recover, hut at last he gave up all hope. When next he visited her he was astonished to find her walking about. He did not caro to offer any explanation. Sho had been discharged from moro than one well-known home' as incurable.
