Fiji papers report that Miss Annie Miles, a stewardess 011 the steamer Amra, disappeared during the voyage between Taviuni and Levuka. The disappearance is u complete mystery.

[Per Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, April 22. The headless body of an infant about twelve months old was found on the beach at Rangitoto It had been in the water for a considerable time.

TAURANGA, April 22. A native lad named Solomon October, employed in a flaxmill near Te Puke, was caught in the scutching machinery on Friday and had an arm torn off, necessitating amputation of the linib at the shoulder.

GISBORXE, April 22. Through the overturning of a gig, the infant child of J. Francis sustained concussion of the brain, and is not expected to live.

GORE, April 22. A man named John Crawford, who has been for several years engaged in the cycle trade at Gore, was found this morning near Otamita with a bullet wound lp his head. He was removed to the hospital,- where he succumbed one hour later. A repeating rifle was found lying beside the body and a small box of bullets was found in his pocket. An inquest will be hold. Mrs Gilchrist, wife of William Gilchrist. a teacher at the Mataura School, died this morning. She had been ailing for some time Mr Gilchrist has been the teacher of the East Gore School for over tumty-one years. He lately removed to Mataura.
