A PRISONER'S SUICIDE. [P«r Psebb Association. 1 NAPIER April "20. At the inquest concerning the death of tile lad. Charles Alexander Pullar, on absconder from Weraroa training farm, who hanged himself in a polico cell, the evidence of Burlinson, master of the farm, went to show that deceased waa of a peculiar temperament. He had been twice punished at the fao-m, but not severely. The jury returned a verdict of suicide, there being no evidence to show the state of the boy's mind. RAILWAY FIREMAN INJURED. [Feb Press Association.] TAIHAPE, April 20. A railway fireman named A. V. Round was brought into the hospital today suffering from a fracture of the skull. He was fixing a shovel at the back of the tander in the vicinity of the overhead bridge at Mataroa about 5 a.m., when the driver of the engine missed him. He was found lying at the back end of the tender, and it is assumed that he struck the bridge. His condition is critical. It is gbelieved that he belongs to Leeston or Christchurch.
