DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS. TO-DAY'S MATCHES. To-day was a day of stonewalling in the district cricket championships, in .as much ns an extra day was allowed for the completion of the last matches of the ser>os, and to-day was the second clay. St Albans just managed to kori a first innings lead on West, Christ-church, and Riccarton just passthe East Christchurch total. Replying to 147 bv East Christchurch, Sydenham R made'37o (E. Trnser 216. B. Fraser 30). En.st Christohureh, in their second innings, made 27 for six Sydenham A carried their score to 432 against Riccarton A, Jacobs scoring 162 and Forrester 99). Riccarton made 151. THIRD GRADE. At Lancaster Park last Saturday East Christchurch defeated Sydenham B, who played five men short, by an innings and 216 runs. East Christchurch hatted first and ran up 273 (Rowe 77, Griffen 58, Hobson 23, Bush 19, Wilsteed 18, Xeale 16, Wilson 14). Mathews bowled best for Sydenham, who in their first venture totalled 29 (Tonkin 14) and, following on, made 28 (Mathews not out 1-1). Dobbs and Nonle were the bowlers for East Christchurch, who by this victory won tho championship in the grade. West Christchurch A, continuing their innings, made. 394 (Fade 130. Bridginan 31 not out). High School replied with 140 (Maekay 24, Beattie 20, Francis 18). Time was then called. St Albans B easily passed the Riccarton B total of 219, Maclean making a good stand for 126, Thompson 43. Lamb 7S. O'Brien 89, Webster 47 and T. Crawshaw 23. The total was 456. Play was continued on Lancaster Park between St Albans A and Linwood B, the former making 97 in the second innings (Edgar 42. Fletcher 14). Weston and Brookor were responsible for the bowling. Linwood B made 112 for eight wickets (Perrin 41, Brooker 16 not out, Matthews 12), and won by two wickets.

St Albans met Kast Cliristchurch at Lancaster Park, the latter making' 33 (Davis 17 Saunders 11 not out). Lucas took the wickets. St Albans made. 11l for one. wicket, and declared (Winter 46, Sandman 42 not out, Learning 23 not out). East Cliristchurch made 09 in the second innings (Xiucaid 38, Saunders 11, Donald 10 not out). OTHER MATCHES. A match between the married and single men of the Central Dairy Company resulted in a win for the former by one run. For the winners Christie, Locke, yliddloton and Smith batted best, as did Glasson, Rix and Clemens for the losers. A match was played at Haglcy Park on Thursday afternoon between tho Veterans and Hardware, the former winning by 25 runs and two wickots.

Mnrists' replied with 81 (Murfitt 23, Mnclaron 2(> not out, Jonyjis 12. Jermain took four wickets for 15. East Christchurch beat AA'altham today by seven wickets and 14 runs. For the winners E. Malzard, 41 (retired), and S. Kirk 50 (retired), and for the losers M'Clurc 15 and Besley 15 were the principle scorers. Turton, eight wicket";, and S.
