CYCLING.
A bicycle road race was held over a distance of nine miles at Ashburton on Thursdav evening and resulted as follows:—T. Rainey (2min 20sec); 1; D. Hewson (Imin oGsec), 2: 0. Stills (2min 45sec), 3. The fastest time was made by W. Brown scr, who covered the distance in 24min 32sec. The "Waimsiri Cycling Club held a bicycle race on Friday evening over a distance of sixteen miles, the course being from Papenui to Yaldhurst and back. The result was as follows:—A. Tulley (limin.), 1; J. M'Fadden (3min), 2. Fastest time—S. Forrester (scr).
