Thery fs a movement afoot just now, states the " Otago Daily Times." to endeavour to increase the term of city and borough councillors to three years. A letter on this subject was received by the St Kilda Borough Council from the Christchurch City Council on Tuesday night. This contained a resolution to tho effect, " That the Municipal Corporations Act bo amended with a view to extending the period for which a councillor is elected to three years, and that all borough councils he asked to assist in the matter."
