The manager of a brick-making firm,, in his evidence before tho Public Works Committee, declared that Sydney briok makers cleared a profit of 100 to 150 per cent.
Tho Legislative Assembly received tho Housing Bill from the Legislative! Council, with amendments which tho Government was prepared to accept. Tho speaker ruled, however, that the Council had no power to amend ai money Bill. It is probable that tha Government will drop the Bill and introduce a now ono embodying tho Council's views.
