COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.

The election for the Hororata seats on the Selwyri County Council was hold yesterday, tho poll resulting as follows: —Godfrey Hall 72, Joseph Hockridge 45, George Steel© 53. Messrs Hall and Steele will therefore be declared duly elected. For the Rakaia riding Messri F. J. Andrew, I>. W. Westeura and, K. Wilson were elected unopposed, and Messrs G. Gerard, K. J. S. Murchison and T. G. Payne were similarly, elected, for tho Lake Coleridge riding. The election of councillors to sit oil the Heath cote County Council, which was lie-Id yesterday, resulted in Messrs R. Carter (Ayonside riding), F. A. Anderson (St .Martin's riding) and T. A. Bray (Hillsborough riding) being, returned on the ballot, while Messrs George Scott (Opawa riding), G. I\. Burton (Bromley riding) and C. Flavell (Heathcoto Valley riding) were returned unopposed. . Messrs D, Manfion, James Milliken, J'. C. Evans and P. H. Johnson havo been elected unopposed for the Tawera County Council. Tho election of threo members for the Spingfield riding will take place on November 15, Messrs H. D. Carter, 11. R. Gillanders, A. Rutledge and J, Seymour being tho candidates.

Messrs G. Rutherford, R. Erans, W. F. Pannett and A. Todd have been returned unopposed to the Waipara Countj' Council. For the Stoneyhurst riding Messrs Duncan Murchison and S. B. Gibb have, been nominated, and tlio poll will bo taken on November 16.

Mr James Deans (Homebush. ridinc) and Messrs G. H. Judd and G. F. Wright (Sheffield riding) were returned unopposed to the Malvern County Council, and for the Oourtenay riding Messrs G. Bedford, J. R. Culler), R. Johnson, H. A. Knisrht, D. M'Millan, E. Reid and J. W. Warren have been nominated. The election will bo. hold, on November 15.
