" Well, a woman dosen't waste time on hair-restorer; she buys hair." The members of the Land Purchase Board, under the Land for Settlements Act, arrived in Ashburfcon on Tuesday evening. They visited several properties in the county yesterday, amongst them being Mr G. W. Leadley's property at Wakanui, consisting of 2805 acres, half of which is rich agricultural country and the remainder grassing land, also capable of growing 20 odd bushels of wheat and 30 to 35 bushels of oats to the acre. The Board was highly impressed with the suitability of the estato for subdivision, and it is understood that there is every- prospect of the property being acquired by the Government and subsequently cut up into about eight farms.
