News has been received at Swatoiv, China, of the loes of the steamer Isle, bound from Japan to Hongkong. Sho encountered a typhoon and sank. Th® captain's wife and children and also the Chinese erew were drowned. The bodies wore washed ashore and the nativea stripped them of their clothing and' also tried to tear the jewellery from tlia living.
ASHORE. SYDNEY, November 6. Tlie steamer Port Stephens is ashor9 at Norali Head. She is high and dry and it is not likely that she will be refloated. All wer« saved.
