TURKISH PROTEST AGAINST BARBARISM. ITALY'S DETERMINATION. A FIGHT TO A FINISH. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Oopyright. (Received November 6, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 5. A Constantinople message cays that an Italian squadron of six units was sighted off Chios. The Turkish Chamber unanimously determined to despatch a protest to the Powers against the atrocities in Tripoli. A message from Rome says that the foreign attaches inspected the Italian entrenchments in the suburbs and eulogised the bearing of the troops and measures for defence.
It is semi-offlcially announced that General 'Frugoni, with another army corps, is proceeding to Tripoli. The Government is determined to carry the war to a finish with the utmost energy.
A SOMBRE PICTURE. (Received November 6, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, November 5.
Renter's correspondent., who has arrived at Malta from Tripoli, paints a sombre picture of the situation there. He states that Tripoli is practically besieged, the Arabs holding four-fifths of the oases. The retirement has greatly discouraged the troops. General Canevas's orders were directly responsible for the slaughter of the Arabs.
