TECHNICAL COLLEGE.

BOARD OF GOVERNORS. A monthly meeting of the Board rf Governors of the Christchuroh Technical College was held last night: present—Messrs C. Allison (in the chair): H. B. Sorensen, M. Murphy, G. Scott. J. M'Cullough, W. Bayward, A. J. Bell, W. F. Cooper, W. 11. Cooper, E. Denkam, I). M'Millau, W. Hall, J. B. Scoble and M'Gregor Wright. The Canterbury College Board of Governors wrote, appointing Messrs J. L. Scott, T. W. Rowe and S. H. Seager a special committee to confer with" the Technical Board on the question ot overlapping. The chairman and Messrs G. Sc*.tt, T. Gapes and A. Williams were appointed to represent the Technical Collego Board. The chairman reported that a depu- j tation had waited upon the Prime Minister with reference to tho application for n grant of £ISOO towards the Girls Training Hostel. 'Hie application had boon supported by all the North Canterbury members of the House ot Representatives, and the Legislative Council. The sum of £ISOO had been placed on tho Supplementary Estimates, and the Board was therefore in a position to carry out the scheme in its entirety. The reuort was adopted. The iSuilding Committee reported that it had agreed to pay the sum of £3O and to return tho lighting fittings for gas in full and final settlement of all claims in connection with the School of Domestic Instruction buildings.

The report was adopted. The financial statement was to the effect that the receipts sineo the previous meeting had been £1437 18s Bd, and the expenditure had been £BO4 0s 2d. » . Accounts for £79 13s 6d were passed for payment.
