T note in the published extract' of thft annual report of the Lyttelton Gymnasium A.S.C. that the club had sua*, tained a loss of £lO on its annual cat-' nival owing to the poor support of the outside clubs. On looking over the programme lor that carnival I find thdentries for the interdub event totalled;' fifty-seven, prize-money £4 4s, and for. the relay race twelve teams, prizemoney £2 2s. The entries for these,, events were well up to the average for; a suburban club, and after plaoing* these figures together, and also includ", ing novelty event and dive., 1 fail to : see how the olub could lose such an** amount as £10; The most T make it; possible is about £4 10s.
