TO KEEP CUT FLOWERS.

Here are a few hints concerning out flowers, which readers would do well to observe:—Don't put the flowers straight into the vases and leave them to wither away. Cut tho stems before putting them into the water. In tho case of flowers with stems of a woody nature, such as roses and chrysanthemums, strip off the bark for two or three inches at tho end of the .stem. Placa the flowers iu plenty of water, allowing it to come to the top of tho stems if possible, as this will refresh them wonderfully. Lilies of the valley, tulips and Sowers of .this description often droop after being in the vases for a day or two. When this happens take them out, cut tho stems, and leave them for an hour immersed in clean water. After 'this they will bo as fresh as ever, and you can arrange them in tho vases again. If you v/iah your flowers to keep fresh for a lengthy period, lay a piece of cold paper over them at night-timo. Change the water in the vases daily.
