UNDER NO-LICENSE.
A WAIHI RESOLUTION. [Per Puess Association.] WAIHI, November 3. A deputation of business men and others waited on the Borough Council with reference to tho statement niado by the Mayor recently that Waihi bad not benefited morally or materially under no-license. Tho speakers challenged tho Mayor's statements, and urged the Council to pass a resolution contravertiug it. The Mayor held to his declaration, and a resolution was passed that tho opinion of .the Mayor regarding Waihi under no-licenso did not represent the opinion of the Council, and that the Council considered that no-license in Waihi had not had an injurious effect financially, morally or socially on the well-being of the town.
