Proceedings wore characterised by tlio work being- chiefly of the useful order, and it was. therefore, not of a particularly interesting character. Outalnder compassed twa circuits at half and three-quarter pacing, tho last half-mile. occupying- G7 l-Gsec. Masterpiece and Counterfeit ran tho lft3t half-mile of a medium pace circuit in 55aoc, arid Cronstadt, with Troon tor a companion, negotiated a circuit at halfspeed, 'finishing, up fast over the last two furlongs. Miadam Madcap (Jones) with Heather Brae acting- as pacemaker over tha first furlong, ran half a mile from a standing start in Blsoc, finishing- strongly. Nyland (Oliver) gave Boanerycs (Hatch) a couple of lengths start, and defeated him by a little mora than a length m a spin over six furlonga, which Nyland ran in lmin 17 l-ssec. St Felix and St Petersburg brushed over three furlongs in iiSsee. Kilosteri (Young) gr.vo Goodwin Park (JA'Mullan) n decisive beating over a mile, run in ]min. 4fijsec, and his effort was a distinct improvement upon his poor display of yesterday. Lady Moutoa spurted half a mils pleasingly in BO l-stiec, a distance that Fiarnbeau and Croßbie separately ran in s(Jsec. Countermine (Emerson) galloped five furlongs in lmin 3 4-ssec. Dearest defeated Gipsy Belle over four furlongs on tho sand, run in <t'J l-ssec. San Lass thii six furlongs in lniiji 21 2-osec. Electrakofli'a task was seven furlongs nt threequarter speed. Merry Frank put in a working gallop over six furlongs. Tangeroa defeated Expansion over half a utile run in 51 •l-Dsec. After breakfast Bonny CI len spurted half a mile in SHsee. Turbiuo (C. Emerson) c.'ashetl over three furlongs on the tan in 3Grcc, Yodel ran half a mile in si2sec, and Ireland (M'Clunky) brushed over fivo furlongs in lmin ssec. finishing under a pull. Hohungatahi finished strongly over tho last part of a medium pace circuit, and Martian Maid and Passion performed a similar task. A number of two-year-olds wore out and did steady pacing. ltauroa, who bled after work on Monday, has done practically nothing since, which must prejudice his chance in to-morrow's raco. Connterminn is lrano, and is ft doubtful starter for the Stewards' Handicap. Glenapring, who arrived yesterday, was out, and cantered once round.
