Tho largest sheets of glass made by the old blowpipe method measure about 7l't by 'lit, which means about 201b of molten glass material, and only a few workmen are sufficiently skilful to blow that weiuht from a mouth pipe. The large sheets of plate glass are usuallv rolled on a. flat iron tattle, and the largest plates that have ever been made, so far as is known, measure '.loft by 20ft. Reyond that size there are technical difficulties of handling.
