OJ,UJI The third competition of the church Defence Itifle Club's season Vi&S fired on Saturday and Thursday, the conditions being seven shots at 300ycla, oOOj'ds and 600 yds. Contrary bo usual custom, the Saturday marksmen strucls the worst v.'eather; in fact, the weather conditions, especially towards the close of the shooting at 500 yds and at tha commencement at GOOyds, were tha worst ever experienced on the range. The day started with h changeabla liglit, with a light, fitful north-easter. A strong nor'-west- followed, changing to light and tricky south-west, which suddenly developed into a howlin<j gulo, necessitating as much as sixteen degrees allowance at 500 yds. Undetf iheso conditions tlio scores suffered somewhat. Nevertheless, Rifleman 15. F. Sandford shot brilliantly, and. suo< ceeded in putting on a century, which won tho competition.
