The president moved, and Mrs F. Pratt seconded—" That this committee de-sires to express its gratitude and thanks to the retiring secretary, Mrs M. H. Lissaman, for her work in connection with the Society; her zeal has been great, and the whole-hearted maJiner in which she has set about her too often unpleasant work has been wonderful ; the results of her work havo been marvellous, nothing has been too great a trouble to her. In expressing our appreciation of her efforts, we at the same time take this opportunity of welcoming our new secretary, Miss Early, who we are sure will do her utmost to continue the good work done by Mrs Lissaman." Mr D. N. Adams and other members present also eulogised Mrs Lissaman's work, and the resolution was carried unanimously, and ordered t-o be entered on the minutes of the Society. Mrs Lissaman, in thanking the committee for its kind words, said she found it very difficult to express all that she felt at that moment. Sho wished to assure the committee collectively and individually that none knew better than she that if she had not at all times been supported by the everready help and never-failing sympathy of tlie members of the committee her work would have lacked much of the success which the resolution had attributed to her efforts. The Rev F. Rule moved, and Mr Hall seconded, that a sub-committee consisting of the lady members of the committee and of Mr Maokie and the mover should be set up to make arrangements for a presentation to Mrs Lissaman, in recognition of her services. The motion was carried unanimously, Mr Rulo being appointed to act as convener. It was resolved, on the motion of the president, seconded by the Rev F. Rule, that Mrs Lissaman should be invited to become a member of the committee. On the motion of Mr Mackie, seconded by Mr Zouch, the secretary was instructed to convey to Messrs Cunningham and Taylor, honorary solicitors to the Society, a hearty vote of thanlcs for special legal work done recently by them for the Society. In view of the largo amount of secretarial work to bo done, Mr D. N. Adams suggested tliat Mrs Lissaman should be asked to assist Miss Early with the secretarial work. This mattor was left to Mrs Lissaman and Miss Early to arrange between themselves, and they agreed to give effect to Mr Adams's suggestion. After considering the ciises dealt with during October the meeting closed.
