In the House of Commons Mr Wedgwood, Liberal member for Newcastle-under-Hyme, asked Mr Asquith whether, in view of the Government's defeat in the House of' Lords, he would withdraw the Parliament Bill and recommend the creating of peers in order that the will of the people might prevail. Mr Asquith said the Government did «ot intend to withdraw.
