A meeting of the members of tlio Canterbury district Society of Accountants was held last evening in the rooms of the Canterbury Industrial Association, Mr G. W. Hulmo presiding over a largo attendance. Tlio evening Mas devoted to the. raiding of ten-minute papers on various subjects by members. Mr W. M'Gibbon read a paper on" Bills of Exchange," Mr 11. It. Best a paper on " Colurubar Journal.'}," and Mr "W. K. Best a paper on the distinction between a partnership and a limited liability company. At the conclusion of tlio meeting the speakers were accorded a hearty vot*; of thanks.
