THE EARTHQUAKE'S VICTIMS
MADERO'S RECEPTION
AN ANTLMADERO MOVEMENT. • United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received June 9, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, June 8. A message from Mexico City says that the death roll of the earthquake amounts to sixty-three, and that the injured number eighty. The heaviest loss was through the collapse of the barracks, which was filled with artillerymen, and twelve women, wives of artillerymen, were among the victims. Madero was enthusiastically greeted. Speaking to a huge crowd, he declared that the spirit of liberty would not be satisfied until tho reign of democracy was complete throughout the whole American continent. United States secret service men have been arrested at El Paso. Four members of the revolutionary forces operating in Lower California seized a large supply of arms and ammunition. , A widespread anti-Madero movement is declared to have been discovered in Lower California.
A VOLCANO. (Received June 9, 1.20 p.m.) 4 LONDON, June 8. A message from Mexico City says that the volcano Colima is active, following on the earthquake. The towns of Tonila and Sanadres are badly damaged, and thousands are homeless. In Zapotlan the number of victims is reported to be large.
