The London newspapers have display headings in connection with the inauguration of Australian penny postage.
BIG INCREASE IN BUSINESS. (Received May 3, 9.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE. May 3
Already a large increase is noticeable in the postal matter since the inauguration of the penny postage. Mr Thomas, the Postmaster-General, has "received a large number of congratulatory messages, including one from Sir Joseph Ward, who says that the new institution completes another link in the chain of Imperial unity, and adds a hope that its general introduction throughout -the world may quickly follow.
