The Admiralty has decided 911 an important | extension of the torpedo factory at Port Matilda, on the Clyde. THE DUKE OF CONNAUGHT. The Duke of Connaught has accepted the presidency of the Colonial Institute. HEARTS OF OAK BUILDING SOCIETY. The directors. of the Heart of Oak Building Society state that the Society has a reserve of £3,752,000, and that the deficiency only exists if it is called on to pay all the claims together, a contingency swhicli is unlikely to arise.
