(Before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.) Drunkenntsss. —Mary Collins, a statutory second offender, admitted having been drunk, and she was fined 10s and; costs, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment. A Despicable Theft.—John L. Leslie was charged with having stolen a" purse containing £4 in money from Albert Partridge. He pleaded guilty, but said that he was drunk at the time. Chief-Detective Bishop said that Partridge was an old age pensioner, acred seventy-six years. Leslie had. met him outside a hotel and had asked him for two three-penny pieces for 'sixpence. Partridge had produced his purse to grant the request, and Leslie had snatched it, leaving the old man without a penny. He was perfectly sober at the time. He was sentenced to four months' imprisonment. Domestic Difficulties.—ln L. Cowan (Mr Hunt) v. Robert Cowan {Mr Weston) the Magistrate ordered the defendant bo pay 25s a week towards the support of the complainant, and gave her the custody of three children-
