During the year the iipual competitions had been held and an attempt had. been made to initiate a girls' tennis competition, but it had to bo abandoned owing to the small number of schools that were able to take part. The annual sports meeting had established records as to attendance and entries. _ The public had. taken an increased interest in the gathering, and the Council recommended libat something should be done this year to ensure a like interest by making the chief item a display of fancy marching by the girls' squads and cadets.

The chairman spoke of the keen interest that had been taken in the last gathering, and said that it would be a good idea to make the next sports meeting as interesting by holding it in aid of some deserving object. The children could help their less fortunate brethren while indulging in their sports. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr T. S. Foster; vicepresidents, Messrs Brock., Evans, Hardie, Hughes, Mayne and Owen; committee, Misses Spence and Smith and Messrs M'Gregor, Adams, Waller, Balch, Bean, Lynskey, Menzies, Douds, Bishop, Purchase, Pratt, Sinclair and Kirkpatrick.
