The Hon H. F. Wigram, M.L.C, and Mr : William Recce arrived, from "Wellington this morning. , Mr Frank Talbot arrived in Christchurch to-day to make arrangements for. Madame Calve's tour of tho dominion. " ' . Mrs George Payling returned to Christchurch yesterday after spending an extended holiday in Auckland. At a meeting of the Southbridge District High School Committee, held on Monday evening, it.was decided to recommend ,Mr J. W. A. of the Doyleston Public School, for appointment as headmaster. Messrs G. 8." Baker, -D. Ross (Wellington). C. Morsti, .1. Lucas, Q. B. 0. Man. J.'Turnbull (Givborne), A. Champion (Auckland), C. C. Hammond (Fending), F. C. Batcheior and J. T. T. Forbes 1 (Dunedin) arrived in Christchurch this morning.
