LONDON, August 4. 1 A number of drillers and caulkers at ,he Govan dry dock, after removing dates and making a vessel unfloatable, jtruck without giving notice, demanding time instead of piece rates. The iction was taken without the union s knowledge, and the employers were unjware of any dissatisfaction. The Shvprailders Employers' Federation announce a general lockout on August 13 unless the men resume work to-day. Despite the Boilermakers and Shipwrights' Union ordering immediate resumption of work, the strike continues.
