EXPLOSION ON A TORPEDO-BOAT. United Press Association—By Electrio > Telegraph—Copyright. IX)NDON, August 3. By an explosion on a Russian tor-pedo-boat at Kronstadt six men were killed and fourteen injured.
FATAL EXPLOSION. PARIS, August 3. A submarine mine at Toulon, wliile being lifted into a launch, exploded and killed two men and injured several others.
A MISSING MAN. ■ [Par Press Association.] DARGAVILLE, August 3. Nothing more has been heard of Fred Whitehouse, employed as a cook on the schooner Isabella do Fraine. Police investigations show that the missing man liad been taken on board twice on Monday evening in a partially intoxicated condition. At a little after ten he went ashore again with a billycan. to get more beer for supper, but was refused at an hotel. Since then he has not been seen, and the? general impression is that returning to the vessel he fell into the river and was drowned.
[P-ER Press Association.] NAPIER, August' 3. A young man named William Walch, son of Joseph Walcli, borough foreman of. roads, died suddenly to-day while looking on at a football match. He was suddenly seized with oonvulsjons and died before reaching the hospital. An inquest will be held to-morrow afternoon. ,
