SITUATION HAS BECOME SERIOUS
SPANISH AMBASSADOR RECALLED. United Press Association—By Electric Tel cgr aph—C opy r iglit. (Received August I, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 31.
The Spanish Government has recalled the Spanish Ambassador from the Vatican, alleging that tho Vatican has rendered Spain's conciliatory proposals abortive. The Premier adds that the Government will not abandon its endeavour to secure a reduction of the religious orders and establishments. The withdrawal of tho Ambassador has caused a sensation in Rome.
