Some Facts about a " Triumph " Triumph One of the most comprehensive and convincing of all possible testa of the power reliability and speed of varions typea of motor cycles was that conducted by the North Canterbury Motor Cycle Clud on the Hackthorne Road hill route in June last. Eight well-known makes of machine were " tried out," each being handicapped on the basis of its horse-power and weight, so that the smallest and weakest machine had, theoretically at all events, an equal chance with the heaviest and most powerful. One result of the trial was to demonstrate m a very forcible and striking manner, first, that ample engine power is a first necessity for reliable, economic running and secondly that « ltil this reserve power must be combined absolute soundness of construction and simplicity aud refinement of derail.
