Mr Asquith stated in the House of Commons that, the conference on the veto question had carefully surveyed a large part of the field of controversy, and discussion had so far progressed that members considered it necessary that the deliberations should continue. There was no question of indefinite continuance and if agreement was unlikely an announcement would be made. ,
