SHEEP-DOG TRIAL CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Christchuroh Sheep Dog Trial Club was held on Saturday, Mr F. A. Archer presiding. The balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed that there was a credit balance, but there had been a loss of about £5 on the last trials. Mr W. 0. Rutherford was re-elected judge, Mr W. W. Morton honorary treasurer, and Mr E. Hardcastle honorary secretary. Time-keepers and flag stewards were re-elected, and Mr S. Robertson was added to the committee in place of Mr J. S. Weir, jun. It was resolved to hold the annual trials on May 26, 27 and 28. these dates being a week later than usual, as it was stated that many Canterbury shepherds could not attend on the earlier dates on account of the snow muster not being completed. The committee was recommended to shorten the programme by cutting out the yarding competition, as the large entries that were received for the trials prevented them being got through within _three dayß. The condition providing that in yarding the sheep the man should stand at the head of the hurdle was discussed and referred for further consideration to the committee.
