A BY-ELECTION.
LONDON, May 5. ' The by-election for the Attercliffe division of Sheffield to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr Langley, on the" ground of health, resulted : wj?ointer (Labour) 3531, King Farlow (Official Unionist) 3380, Lambert (Liberal) 8.175, Muir Wilson (Indepenident Unionist, who objected to. trfe selection of an outsider) 2803. The Labourites their victory; betides the Tory splii, to the 'serious unemployment at Attercliffe and the consistent Labourite advocacy of the Right fco Work Bill. The Liberals* are deeply flisappointed. (At the general election in 1906 the boiling was as follows,:—J. B. Langley {Liberal) 6523, ; A. M. Wilson (Conservative) 6736.
