The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs R.s Wilson, Seaview, Ashburton, tell but of her perambulator on Monday last, and has since been in an unconscious state. Slight hopes are entertained of her recovery. [Per Pbess Association.] NELSON. April 10. Arthur Acklam Daly, tailor, committed suicide this morning by shooting himself in a disused brewery in Halifax Street. Deceased in January last escaped from a drowning fatality in the harbour, when George Gunderson lost his life. That preyed on Daly's mind, and during the past fortnight he has been very depressed. When "missed about 6.30 this morning a search was made, and the body was discovered in the brewery. He leaves a widow and five children. / DUNEDIN. April 10. A motor-car yesterday startled the horses in a drag containing twenty-two picnickers, including children, on the Mosgiel-Outtam road. The drag went over an embankment. Mrs Sheriff had her collar-bone broken/ but ihe others fortunately escaped with minor injuries. William Harken, staircase-maker, employed by the New Zealand Express Company, fell over the cliffs at Logan*s Point quarry, and was killed instantaneously. A lad named George Taylor, whose parentg reside in Bowen Street-, St Albans, was erecting a pigeon-house this morning, when he fell and, broke his right leg.
