AUTUMN MEETING. The autumn meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Club -will be commenced at Eicoax■fcen on Monday. The fields for all the event* «re latge, and, aa the competitors include i ■trong contingent of North bland : horses, the sport promises to be more than usually interesting. " Thirteen horses have made the final payment of the Great Easter Handicap, •mong them being a number of very smart performers. The Champagne Stakes is expected io provide a specially interesting corttkat, and it should settle the question of supremacy among the two-year-olds of the dominion lot the present season. All the other events- on the programme look like being keenly contested- The first race is timed to start at noon, and visitors are well catered for in conveniences for reaching the course, the train and tram services being very complete.
