MINERS' COMPLAINT.
[Per Piusss Association.] REEFTON, January 2. The conference between the miners and owners to-day proved abortive The owners stated that if the Government Insurance Department or any other company took the' risks for, say, five years, they would insure, but they would insist oh the medical examination of the men, as they were determinedly opposed to the examination. The Federation is trying to indnce the Government Insurance Department to insure the men. • A special meeting of miners will be held to-night to discuss the position.
