CHILD LABOUR IN AUSTRALIA. UNPLEASANT DISCLOSURES. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. (Received August 7, 10.5 a.m.) . SYDNEY, August 7. The report of the Department of\Labour and Industry discloses a large amount of sweating. Child labour still ; exists, especially among young girls in dressmaking establishments and factories. Instances are given of learners working from six months to two years without wages. A case is related of ten turned-off girls being engaged in making boxes &jb per thousand. Girls were also employed in brickyards, digging clay and wheeling heavy barrows.
