THE WAIMATA GEYSERS.
[Peb Pbess Association.] GISBOitNE. August 3. The Waimata mud geysers are still active, playing to a height of cix feet. The mud that has been thrown up mast total nearly 150,000 tons, for it has covered some six or seven acres of the bush, filled up a crook and is lying 40t : t deep in places. One of the resi-> dents lighted gas coming from the geyser one day last week, and it burnt with a volume of flames for hours.
