THE DUNEDIN VETERINARY SCHOOL.
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 3. Replying to a deputation of Ota go merabem to-day in regard to the Duiiedin Veterinary School, the Hon R. M'Xnb, Minister of Agriculture, said it was the intention of the Agricultural 7)epartment, after tlie Veterinary School had started, to- turn out its own men, and to import no more. If the school could provide enough locallytrained men, they would be selected in preference to imported men. The onJy point he was m. doubt about was whether the Department would be able to guarantee to take a fixed, number, t-.ay ten, directly the first course had been completed. Ho hoped to bo able to announce that the Government would take the first ten men trained locally.
