Kelp and Farley Grove, together, finished fast over the last part of a medium-pace circuit. Slow Tom's task was two circuits on Uia tan at half-speed. Black Friar (Whitehouse) fenced well in a schooling task over four flights of hurdles. Le Beau (Juiian) and Pierre (Deeble) were companions in a schooling task once round over ihe big fences. The post-and-r&ils was omitted, the pair jumping the flight of hurdles alongside. * Both horses fenced safely, and their effort was a very satisfactory one. Northern Star (W. O'Connei!), with Wet Blanket (M'Leod) for a schoolmaster, performed satisfactorily for a beginner over the small hurdle at the top of the course. Albury and Pacific compassed two circuits, the second round at a solid pace, finishing up fast. Pacific cantered on for another round by himself. The following horse 3 performed half ta three-quarter pacing: — Canton, Master Leslie, Lapland, Don Orsino, Hilarity, White Cockade, Chief Lochiel, Siikweb, Sen Sim, Lingerer. Showman, Mooshen. Cavatiua. Scotty, Hoorthcn and Ability, while Sea Dcg, Rescued, Cannonier, Tremulous, Aorangi, Vasß, Homeward, Nadador, Pilot and a number of others got through light tasks. Silken Eein was scratched for all engagements at the Grand National meeting at 11.30 a.m. to-day. Multifid was scratched for the New Zealand Cup to-day. The following horses left Napier to-day to fulfil engagements at the Grand National meetinpr— -Oasis. Black Reynard, Papatu. Chicane, Audax, Kairoma, North Head and Oxton.
