THE NORTH ISLAND MAIN TRUNK RAILWAY.
THE LAST RAIL LAID. [Per Press Association-.] WELLINGTON, August 3. The laying of the rails over the Manganui Viaduct, about three miles south of Makatote, was finished to-day, thus completing the gap in the North Island Main Trunk Railway. Ballast trains are now passing over the viaduct. The Public Works Department i says there will now be no difficulty in i getting the parliamentary train right j through.
