A GOLD STEALING CONSPIRACY. United Press Association — By Electrio Telegraph— Copyright. (Received August 3, 8.35 a.m.) LONDON, August 2. The Maritzburg correspondent of the "Daily Mail" states that sixteen detectives are engaged in tracking a conspiracy to rob the Rand mines. The plan pursued is for confederates at the mines to hand the gold to women, who carry it to the coast. Gangs are operating at Durban and Cape Town. During the present year the value of the gold stolen was £20,000.
