PERSONAL.
Mr G. W. Forbes, of Cheviot, will leave Christchurch this evening for Auckland. He will be present at the ceremonies in connection with the American fleet. He will return home about August 20.
Among the passengers who arrived from Wellington by the Maori this morning were the Hons C. C. Bowen, M.L.C., E. C. J. Stevens, M.L.C., U. Louisson, M.L.C, and J. xaolmes, M.L.C., Messrs A. S. Malcolm, M.P., and C. A. C. Hardy, M.P., and Lieutenant Goldfinch, R.N. k Mr W. T. M'Farlane (Mayor), Councillor D. C. Cameron, jun., and Mr J. B. Dick (town clerk), of St Kildn, Dunedin, inspected £h© destructor, the tepid baths and other municipal buildings to-day. The Mayor and town clerk will leave for Wellington to-night to attend the Municipal Conference, and will afterwards visit Auckland dvr r ing Fleet Week to represent St Kilda Borough. The Mayor (Mr C. AJlieon), Councillor Loughnan and the town clerk (Mr H. R. Smith) will leave for Wellington this evening to attend tho Municipal Conference. The Mayor and town clerk will then proceed to Auckland t<> represent Christchurch. during the visit of the Ain«rLcajii fleet.
