' [Pku Pwsss Association.] rOilT CHALMERS, August 1. The Waimate has arrived from London, after a passage •-, cf fiftyjnine days. Four days after passling the Cape the vessel encountered a south-east gale of hurricane force, 'accompanied by high seas which broke W board. The decks were awash fore find aft, and a flood in the cabins caused the vessel to be practically hove-to for forty-eight hours. A succession, of :westerly g&les delayed the vessel's progress. On one occasion the door of the stewards' quarters was stove in, and the occupants were washed out of their bunks. No injuries were sustained by tho crew, nor was serioua damage done
