The way to kill a strike inspired by agitators to defeat the law is for the community to rally on the side of justice, and reward and praise those who serve their interests by remaining at their posts or those who come forward to carry on public services in time of need. — " New Zealand Times." DEFENCE. To believe that if the British Navy is urgently wanted in the Channel it will waste its time in defending Wellington is foolish. In time of need we may be sure that the British will demand the full service of the Navy which they pay for, and whicn New Zealanders do not pay for, and quite right of the British.— " Evening Post."
