DUNEDIN NOTES.
[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, June 4. In the case of a man named Creaghton, convicted at the Police Court today and fined £5 or three months' imprisonment for procuring liquor for a prohibited person, Sergeant Conn said that the man made a practice of conveying liquor to any prohibited persons who would provide him with the money and afterwards share the liquor with him. The Minister of Lands will open the Ashburton Agricultural Show on Friday, June 12, and then spend a few days among his constituents, delivering an address at Mataura on June 19. The Minister of Labour will have a busy day to-morrow. At 9.45 he is to receive a deputation from the New Zealand Alliance regarding beer depots at Mandeville. Then he will take a trip down the harbour to inspect the harbour works. At noon he will receive a joint deputation from the Harbour Board. Union Steamship Company and Dock Trust, and at 1.27 p.m. he will leave for Karitane, in company with Mr T. Mackenzie, M.P., to hear the grievances of the local fishermen. Further public business will engage the attention of the honourable gentleman in the evening.
